Dr. Finan obtained her bachelors degree in Zoology at the University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio and then went on to obtain her doctorate of medicine from the University of Cinicinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her General Surgery Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, where she also conducted quality outcomes research and earned a Masters of Science in Public Health. Dr. Finan then went on to complete her Colorectal Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Finan's specialty is the treatment of all colorectal diseases ranging from malignant to benign. She is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and in Colorectal Surgery by the American Board of Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Finan offers minimally invasive approaches with advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques for abdominal procedures, colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening, as well as transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) for treatment of rectal polyps and early rectal cancers. Dr. Finan was named to the Baton Rouge Business Report's prestigious Top 40 Under 40 list in 2011 for her work in the community and state.

Dr. Finan's specialty areas include colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, infectious colitis, fecal incontinence, rectocele, rectal prolapse, and anorectal pathology including hemorrhoids, anal fissure, abscess and pilonidal disease.
