Dr. Theunissen received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1999, then graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2003. He completed his internship in General Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he also completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.
Dr. Theunissen also completed a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 2010, then a Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA in 2011.
Dr. Theunissen's surgical interests include pediatric cleft and craniofacial, cosmetic, reconstructive, orthognathic and sleep surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.
